A passkey is a phishing-resistant sign-in credential that replaces a password with a device-bound key pair. FIDO2 is the open standard behind passkeys. The device keeps the private key, and the site keeps the public key.
How SenseCrypt uses it: SenseCrypt is a passwordless identity provider (IdP). A user enrolls from a photo on file. The user then signs in by face. Face matching runs on-device. SenseCrypt stores no biometric data on the server.
